Workshop 2 - Joining your Google Account and Backchannelling with Shortcuts
STEP 1 - Shortcuts on your Desktop and the Magic 6
So there are a number of websites that you go to regularly for instance ManageBAC - acsegham.managebac.com/login if you are a teacher to check students progress in CAS or if a student to dutifully enter your updated activities
So open the Safari App - and tap in the URL then click on the small folder / arrow key and choose Add to Home Screen (1,2)
Now add one more Shortcut and then return to your desktop to see your three shortcuts - the final shortcut will be an excellent tool to use with students in discussions with their iPADs - its called www.todaysmeet.com (5,6)
STEP 2 - Backchannel with TodaysMeet
Also remember as shown in screenshot six that you can create folders by pushing down and waiting for an App to "wobble" and then dragging it onto another. And note you can add up to 6 folders / icons to the dashboard for easy access as is shown in (7)

So what is backchanneling - well don't listen to me watch this video and
then think of the possibilities in TOK or English classes.
All you need to do is enter a name for the room (8) if you are the
teacher and then students just have to go to their Todaysmeet
shortcut and add the room name to the URL (9). Simple but fun -
remember to run in projector mode when
showing on the whiteboard at the front of the class....
